- Yamaha Racing Tips Manual For Early 70s Bikes
Product Description
A bound reprint of the VERY useful Yamaha Racing Tips Manual first published in 1972. The information applies to prior model years and up through approximately 1973/74 depending on model.
This information was originally only supplied to Yamaha dealers so they could modify Yamaha's two-strokes into serious race bikes, back in the day.
Covers cylinder head mods, porting and piston mods, rotary valve mods, connecting rods, expansion chambers, plug selection, carburetor adjustment (worth the price of the manual itself because it so clearly explains jetting), using a degree wheel, and much more.
Includes all specs for porting and engine work, per Yamaha's own race shop. FILLED with the information you need to understand before making changes to ANY 2-stroke motor. For example, this manual has the clearest explanation of how to properly go about modifying the ports on a 2-stroke cylinder that we've ever seen. Priceless stuff!
Covers the following models:
- JT-1 and JT-2
- LT-2 motocross and enduro models
- AT-2 motocross and enduro models
- CT-2 (ditto)
- DT-2 (ditto)
- RT-2 (ditto)
- LS-2 street
- TA-125 Road Racer
- DS-7 street
- TD-3 Special
- R-5 street
- TR-3 Road Racer
This is a BIG manual, weighing in at about 120 pages. All illustrations are very clear and with all relevant dimensions.
